Darryl Sydor is replacing Kris Letang in the line up tonight. Sydor has not yet made an appearence in the playoffs but may provide some veteran leadership on the blue line. At least that's the hope of Pens coach Michel Therrien. Therrien also changed the line combinations in hopes of generating some offense.
Personally I do not think that tinkering with the line combinations or substituting a defenseman that has not played a game in 2 months will make any difference. The difference must happen within each member of the team. They must dig down deep within and find that high flying, motivated individual that took the ice two weeks ago and dispatched the Flyers in 5 games. That is what is needed. Each player must take responsibility for his actions and follow through with the best game he has ever played. Nothing else will overcome what has become a near flawless Red Wings defense corps. Nothing else will put pucks in the net. Nothing else will bring a victory tonight at Mellon Arena!
