Game 2 roundup - Pens 0, Red Wings 3

For the second consecutive game the Pens failed to put one past Detroit goalie Chris Osgood, losing game 2, 3-0. The Red Wings now have a two to zero lead in the series coming back to the 'Burgh.

All indications point to a very quick series if Pittsburgh continues playing the way they have the first two games. They have been able to generate very little offense and when they have been able to they have not finished the play by putting the puck behind Osgood. Not to take anything away from the Red Wings, they have played a nearly flawless, defense minded game quickly getting pucks out of their zone and into the hands of their forwards to create scoring chances.

Much has been said around town about Evgeni Malkin's recent statement that "he is tired". It really looks as if the entire team is suffering from the same thing, not just Geno. This is not the time of the year to let fatigue take over. I'm very surprised that any professional hockey player would even make such a statement. This team was flying high just 3 days ago, before the Finals started. They looked and sounded unstoppable. Oh, how things change...
